50 shades of mayo

2016, installation

fluorescent tubes, Rosco gels, wire, steel, shrink tube

For the exhibition Gym of Obsolete Technology at the W139, this light installation was created to give form to the variety of white light that we process and experience on a daily basis. The installation, composed of defective lights, strobes intermittent nuances of white, reflecting off the windows and walls to form a temporal painting. During the exhibition the lamps slowly deteriorate — with every flash they burn down a little bit more, eventually going completely numb.
